This is the second time I've asked. I need an answer ASAP, please! Last night when I went to bring up Firefox, it automatically updated the software. When the browser came up, my bookmarks were all gone. I tried restoring from backup (I get the error message "Unable to process the backup file."). I tried importing from a manually exported HTML file (nothing happens). I tried saving new bookmarks (when I click Bookmarks again, the newly saved bookmark isn't there). I tried all the trouble-shooting advice; I have only one profile. I tried doing a system restore back to three days before the problem. I tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling. Nothing works. Please help me ASAP, as I cannot function without my bookmarks!!!

The combination of problems indicates that the file that stores bookmarks is damaged, for details on how to fix that see - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_process_the_backup_file_-_Firefox

Thanks! Creating a new profile worked.
