Have been trying for weeks to install your up-date that was sent to me and suggested to install. Problem is three fold: 1- I can not get past the pop up screen that states Downloading Firefox and connecting to Firefox server, green bar just keeps running back and forth, it will never connect. And reminder pop-up comes on every time I restart my computer and try to install it every time, with the same results, it just keeps running. 2- I also get Alerts from my Norton System that state " High Disc usage by Firefox. 3- I get lots of not responding messages and delays on Firefox

I'm sure all are related, but I'm computer stupid and don't know what to do.

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

  • Uninstall your current Firefox version.
  • Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I'll try and do this later today, Thanks. Hopefully you won't be hearing from me again, because I'm stupid when it comes to install and uninstall stuff. That's why I hope up-dates and fixes work the first time. Keep you posted.
