Firefox is not responding at all. Would like to delete it and reinstall, however when trying to uninstall a message appears that I first have to close firefox! In short: cannot delete firefox, cannot reinstall, cannot use it. Operating system Windows 7, 64 bit, Sony VAIO Laptop PCG 81213M. Firefox has been working fine before. IE is working fine.

This may help if you have had the same problem as me on occasions.

Right click on a blank area of the Task-Bar. Select "Start task manager" from the menu that appears. Along the top of the "Task manager window" select the "Processes" tab. You will see a list of running processes. Scroll down the list until you see Firefox. Highlight it and click on the "end process" button at the bottom right. Click "end process" on the warning popup that appears. Firefox should disappear from the list. Now you should be able to start it or uninstall. If Firefox doesnt appear in the list at all then this fix is not for you. Hope this helps. Lozz

THanks a lot for quick reply. Indeed a firefox proces was still running, so with your described method (although with CTRL-Alt-Del combination, because I had no task manager!) it was possible to delete and re-install Firefox after downloading 6.0.2. Initially no response from firefox, however just writing this reply firefox opened as many times as I pressed the symbol on the desktop?! Any idea what's going on? Firefox does respond now in the way it is supposed to do (opens after clicking on the desktop symbol). Thanks again for your quick answer.
