Hi! @pb5982, my name is John and i'm a member of the Searchqu support team, and i'm here to help :) When the software was installed onto your pc it offered two basic installs, typical installation, which lists the add-on features such as searchqu Toolbar, and Custom installation, which allows you to select the add-ons that you wish to install. There's no need to worry if you did the typical install - this isn't a virus, nor malware, and there's no need to Perform a virus scan against it. if you still have troubles with opening new tab without searchqu default search please check: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/newtaburl/

Modified
- Remove Windows iLivid Toolbar (if you have it installed):
- With Firefox closed (Firefox button > Exit OR File > Exit if using the Menu Bar), go to Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, scroll to near bottom of the list, click on the item, click "Remove"; reboot your computer if instructed to do so.
- Also see:
- Reset your home page (if the Searchqu search page is displayed when starting Firefox): http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
- You can reset to the default by clicking "Restore to default" on Options > General > Startup > Home page. Be sure to set "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page" on that same panel.
- Reset your Location Bar search engine (if typing a few words in the URL/Location Bar takes you to Searchqu search):
- type about:config in your Location Bar, like typing a web site address, and press the Enter key
- ignore warning and choose to continue
- in Filter, type keyword.URL
- in lower part of screen, if it is bold and shows "user set", right-click keyword.URL and choose "Reset"
- in Filter, type Searchqu
- any items in lower part of screen in bold and showing "user set", right-click and choose "Reset"
- close about:config tab

- If Searchqu is shown in your Search Bar and you want to remove it:

You need to update some plug-ins:

Here is the answer. 1. open firefox, select tools, options, manage add ons 2. find the add on name "data mngr" and select disable 3. now install add on "safe browser" 4. go back into the manage add ons 5. select the add on "new tab url" make sure it is enabled 6. select options 7. lets you decide what the url to be.
Safe Browser really helped me out with his searchqu solution. It would be nice if someone could created an app to do this. Thank you!
