When you go to task manager, go to the "processes" tab, right click on "firefox.exe," and select "end process tree." In the picture I've attached, I'm using windows 8, so the UI is a little different, but I hope it points you in the right direction.

You really should figure out what is causing Firefox not to close cleanly.
