This happened about a year ago as well. Some version of FF causes my Macbook Pro to run VERY hot. I am doing nothing more with it than I usually do. This problem started up about a month or so ago. This doesn't happen with running any other browser. The PROBLEM is that I teach online and our software really only works with FF. It is a HUGE inconvenience to constantly be shutting down FF waiting and then booting it up again to only have to do the same thing 30 minutes later. What is up??

You can try troubleshooting your extensions and plugins to find the possible culprit. That takes time and can be tricky.

You can also try resetting Firefox but that will get rid of your extensions (you can always try downloading them again).
