I was downloading something today and somehow a new browser was added called Babylon... Every time I log on to my homepage this program opens instead. I've tried to get rid of it multiple ways, including with manage search engines (it isn't even listed there), but it won't go away. I hate it and want to get rid of it. Please help. I'm always careful when I'm downloading anything and always un-check any boxes that offer add-ons. I did this time too, but it got by somehow. Thanks.

Remove Babylon:

  1. Uninstall Babylon in Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features); if it is shown as installed, remove it. See - http://www.babylon.com/info/uninstall
  2. Use the following to reset your Search engine defaults - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
  3. If you need to reset your home page see - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page
  4. You may need to manuualy reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref using about:config then close and restart Firefox
    • Using about:config - http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
    • Type about:config in the location/URL bar and press Enter
    • If you see a warning, accept it (promise to be careful)
    • In the Search box type: mstone
    • In the bottom of the display, right-click the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line and select "Reset"
    • Close and restart Firefox
