I recently updated from 22 to 23 and things changed. Before when I made a bookmark, I use the dropdown menu to see ALL my folders in my main Bookmark dropdown, so that I may place the bookmark in the exact folder that I wanted. Now I only see 6, and I have many more folders, but I want to see them all.

How can I do that?

This problem occurs when you use one of these methods:

  • double-click the star icon in the address bar
  • Bookmarks menu > Bookmark This Page
  • Ctrl+d

I haven't noticed a change to that dialog. There still are the recent folders drop-down and the all folders button on my system. (The attached screen shots are from Firefox 11 and Firefox 23.) Is the problem that you no longer have a scroll bar??

Thanks for the speedy response! You understood my dilemma perfectly!

You did get me looking in the right direction. In your second screenshot when I used the circled button (the one I have used many times) it only shows 3 listings: Bookmarks Toobar, Bookmarks Menu & Unsorted Bookmarks. The step I was missing is pressing the little arrow to the left of Bookmarks Menu. That expands and shows all my folders, with arrows for the folders within folders. You need only do this once and each time you use the button you showed, all the folders will be displayed. Since I had only done this once, years ago, I forgot about it.

Thanks for jogging my memory!
