My calendar tab disappeared - please tell how to get it back with all of my entries still in it.
My calendar tab has disappeared. When I go to the view menu, the calendar heading is grayed out and I can't select it.

My guess would be that you are looking at the Calendar choice under View. That choice is to modify the view of the calendar once it is open. When the calendar is closed that choice is not active.
Look under Events & Tasks. Click Calendar there or use the shortcut of shift+control+c to open the calendar tab.

I cannot find Events & Tasks and shift+control+c does not work.
