It is caused by scripts that run on the page. It works immediately when I disable JavaScript temporarily. I can also use the Tab key to reach the fields.

Code like this usually doesn't work with Firefox and there is no need to use it as it can quite easily be bypassed in a lot of ways. You would only need to type or paste this in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).

That returns false in other browsers, so that code runs ONLY in Firefox (and presumably other Gecko-based browsers like Seamonkey).

Sorry, that was a typo, I meant a script to block selection in other browsers.
