Emails from senders I've never created a filter for or labeled their email as junk are being dumped into spam folder even if the sender is in my collected addresses. I've checked the box under account settings that tells T-bird not to label not filter mail from sender in address book. I don't see a pattern, but it is causing a huge problem because I'm not seeing email I need to see.

What type of account are you using; POP or IMAP?

re :dumped into spam folder

Do you mean 'Spam' folder or 'Junk' folder? Thunderbird uses 'Junk' folder. If you have a 'Spam' folder then it is a folder on the server which you have subscribed to see and the emails are being put in 'Spam' by a filter set on the server -which you could access via webmail.

Do you use another filter program eg: Spamassassin ? Tools > Account Settings > Junk Settings Have you selected to 'Trust junk mail headers set by: eg: Spamassassin ? Please post an image of this in this forum, so we can see all the Settings you have selected for Junk Settings.

If you select an email in the 'Junk' folder, so it displays in the Message Pane, Does it say 'Thunderbird thinks this message is Junk mail' ? Have you been training the Junk by clicking on 'not Junk' to send it back to Inbox?

I was careless in my terminology. I meant to say "junk." I can tell it isn't my ISP because I'll actually see the message on my iPhone and it disappears when I download to my laptop via T-Bird. My primary account is iMAP, secondary account (gmail) is POP. I have been training it. Thanks much. BillSnyder42 said

Thanks for the image. I presume the issue is with the IMAP main account.

I can tell it isn't my ISP because I'll actually see the message on my iPhone and it disappears when I download to my laptop via T-Bird. If iphone is accessing server using imap or webmail then it should be visible even if in another folder, but I'm not sure what the spam/junk folder is called on your server.

Make sure you have subscribed to see the Junk/Spam folder - the one on the server.

Please try this: Tools > Account Settings > Junk Settings for the IMAP account. Move new junk messages to: Select 'Other' and the name of the spam/junk folder on the imap account. click on OK

Previous response was designed to get any Junk going to correct imap folder.

In JUnk Settings image, I notice that the 'yahoo.csv' option was not selected.

Is it possible that you have some names in that address book which are also in other address books. I'm wondering if some of your contacts are being labled as Junk because they may be in 'yahoo.csv' which has not been selected as a whitelist, so they are getting caught by the Junk filter.
