I am copying my emails to another computer with thunderbird both 31.6.0 computer 1=win xp comp 2= win 7

it works partially for one account (in both computers) (this problem is less important)

not for my account B it works in the source computer = XP in win7 the account settings cannot read the content of the folder

my computers are on a network so I even tried to use the files in the first computer and with all methods, the account settings cannot read the content of the folder and is has 41MB of emails

the folder structure is different in the 2 accounts in the win xp account 1 has 2 sub directories archives.sbd and inbox.sbd account 2 has no sub directory the files are inbox, inbox.msf, trash and trash.msf win xp reads them win 7 cannot

where is my mistake? thanks

on your XP computer.

in applications data copy the Thunderbird folder and everything under it to your new machine and place in the location disclosed by typeing %appdata% into the start menu search box and pressing enter.

There should already be a Thunderbird folder from your new install, replace it.

That will work unless you have changed the location of the data files in account settings.
