Trash icon ('Cestino' in IT version) correctly displays when starting TB, but changes to Trash folder right after inserting password. Deleted messages are lost, wonder where. A 'Trash' folder does actually exit, where filter can put undesired/irrellevant messages. Messages deleted maully don't go there. Any help on fixing this? I'm using TB 38.1.0 on a PC with XP, SP3. IMAP account (Gmail), setted to not download messages from server. Thanks for any assistance

right click the account and select subscribe. Look for a trash folder to subscribe to.

Right click the account again and select settings. In Server settings for the account select When I delete a message and set it to the correct folder.

I am guess that Thunderbird's localized name for the trash folder and Googles are different. (Just as some IMAP servers have Trash [us] and some have Deleted [UK] in English locales)

Matt, thanks for you reply. It seems the actions you suggest did work. Strange, I already tried this before while watching some replies to a similar problem in the TB forum.I'll be back just in case something will be wrong again with this.

Once again thanks a lot for your help. Riccardo
