changed my gmail password, thunderbird won't recognize it
had to change my gmail password and thunderbird won't accept it. I can access my email through firefox, but would prefer using it through thunderbird, as it was before the password change.

Can you post your Troubleshooting Information?
At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button 
, then select Help, and then Troubleshooting Information.
It is now accepting my gmail account info. I clicked remove account and then canceled this procedure about 10 seconds later (became paranoid of losing everything). Clicked "get mail" in thunderbird and got email without asking for password. Not sure what happened, but it seems to be working now
