I recently upgraded to Thunderbird 38.5.0 (don't remember what number my older version was). I also added Enigmail. The older version did not have Enigmail. The older version had an icon on the toolbar that allowed me to create hyperlinks in messages. I no longer have that icon and I do not have the INSERT functionality in any of the dropdown menus. How do I create a hyperlink in a message in this version of Thunderbird? I've included a screen capture of what Thunderbird 38.5.0 looks like when I compose a message.

I guess you did not notice that Enigmail switches your Composition to plain text. There is no insert in plain text. That is why it is called plain text. You should be able to type the link directly into the Composition window.
