Why did you remove 3D from dev tools?

I did quite a bit of searching and came up dry so please forgive me if this question has been asked and I just failed to find reference to it. WHY, oh why did Moz remove 3D from the inspector? I used it on a daily basis! It's so helpful, especially for tracking down pesky divs that are bigger than they should be on complex layouts. Anyway, the recommended tool 'Tilt' SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS! It doesn't tell you what element you're clicking on! It's almost totally useless.

I saw some comments that it was estimated to take two months of developer time to make it work with e10s (Electrolysis), and there was low usage, so that was not a priority. It was taken out of Firefox 47 and about two dozen pending bugs closed.

I don't know whether the Tilt extension will be the vehicle for an improved experience, or whether this is the end forever. Maybe something to ask about on the Add-ons forum??
