In TB45.4, inbox, the rows are not alternate colors as in previous versions. Is there a way to bring that back or highlight the space between the rows.

Inbox rows/lines were alternating background color... normal, then color, then normal, then color. Like the OLD fan feed paper alternating background color bar every 5 or 10 rows... Makes it easy for us old folks to follow along a line if info and keep from drifting up or down a line/row.

You can probably search for an Appearance Theme that does this, but I quickly found another way to do this.

Create or edit a userChrome.css file.

First find your Thunderbird Profile Folder: Thunderbird Menu: Help: Troubleshooting Information

Under Application Basics, beside Profile Folder, click the "Show Folder" button.

A Windows Explorer window will open to your Thunderbird Profile folder.

Is there folder there called "chrome"? If not, create one.

If there is already a file there called userChrome.css, good. If not, then right-click an open area where the list of files are shown, and choose New, and Notepad document. Type in the name of the file userChrome.css. Text case is important here, so the "C" should be capitalized, but not the rest.

Open the userChrome.css file in Notepad (or another plain text editor), and put in the file the following:

    #threadTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row(odd) {
       -moz-appearance: none !important;
       background-color: rgb(232,232,232) !important; }

Save the file and close Notepad.

Restart Thunderbird.

Now you will see alternating rows in your folders, white and light grey.
