Firefox slow to change from full screen to normal view and vice versa on YouTube since 54.0 update
After I applied the 54.0 update I noticed a big change, how long it took to change Youtube videos being played in normal view to full screen and vice versa. What worked almost instantly before the update now takes almost 3 seconds to change with nothing but a black screen to look at. It doesn't matter which player I use. It's the same either for flash or HTML5.
I already tried to the fix mentioned in: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1091933 but sadly it didn't help. When I went back to 53.0.3 it was back to instantly switching between normal view and full screen. So I think it's definitely a change added in the update.

How long does it take Firefox to switch between normal view and full screen? Also are your graphics drivers up to date?

Approximately 2-3 seconds for YT videos and 1-2 seconds for FF after I press F11. Drivers are up to date.
Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
