Why is autocomplete for address line not working after migration, typing in red and not showing any suggestions?

I migrated my thunderbird to a new laptop a few weeks back. Since then, the auto-completion in the address line isn't working: Typing is red, no suggestions are shown. Autocomplete is enabled in "options". Address book has been imported/migrated and addresses show up in address book, looks alright. What can I do to find the problem? It is very very annoying and tiring to always have to look for the correct addresses and copy them, especially when directing mails to several recipients.

There have been cases where incompatible add-ons caused this problem. Does it appear when you run in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB)?

Thanks, sfhowes! Safe mode "solves" the problem. Now how do I best find out which add-on's the guilty one?

Problem solved! I really do feel quite stupid now. Since starting it in safe mode, removing and then re-installing one single little add-on (tzpush) everything seems to work again. Thanks!
