What websites are opening without your permission? Can you please open Firefox, type about:support into the address bar, press enter and copy over what you see?

All sort of websites, adversiting sites saying that I have won something, etc...

I am trying to copy what I see when typing about:support but this is too long, how can I send it to you please?

I will try it and get back to you. It doesn't do it all the time so will have to wait 24 hours to get a proper thumbed up. I have tried lots of things today and thought I had sorted it but then problem re-occurred after a few hours!!

For uBlock? You can keep the existing options and it should work.

How to get rid of websites opening tabs without authorisation- I also h ve had had this happen several times but only when i first login. Google is set as my homepage and firefox is backup. My homepae settings are not changing. I have tried removing and restoring Firefox That worked once, but the problem is back . I have tried deleting some json files. also worked once I am uncomfortabe deleting anything more complex. do I need to Take it to the shop? I am working on an HP laptop that' about 3 years old--cant'read the model #, cause my eyes ar much older than 3.
