Go back one page get disable in Stackoverlfow
Hello everybody, I believe I have a security setting problem related to site like Stackoverflow. I usually google my questions to get some results and these results, often, are in Stackoverflow site. If I click in one of the results, without using "open in a new tab", I get redirected to the webpage but my "Go back one page" button gray out. This is extremely annoying because very often I have to get back to the list of results, but I can't! I am forced, every time, to rewrite my search query. I tried to disable the "blocking social media trackers" (the little shield in the task bar) for Stackoverflow but nothing changed. Do you have any suggestion?

"open in a new tab" is the only way to be sure of not losing your place.
Thank you FredMcD for your answer. Unfortunately this is a huge problem for me. Not to be able to go back to my google search results is a big issue for my productivity. It seems also that other browsers support the "go back on page" from Stackoverflow. I hope there is a fix for this otherwise I will be forced to change browser.
Hi fabrizio.benedetti.82, it's odd that only one site is affected -- you can go back to Google results normally from other sites?
If you try Undo Close Tab (Ctrl+Shift+t) when the back button is grayed, does a tab open with your Google search results page, or a different tab, or nothing?
Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
The back button can be disabled when new content is loaded via JavaScript (XHR) or in an iframe and the URL in the location bar isn't changed, so you can look for that.
