The verification code is for who/whatever sent you the code. Open the browser to their website.

I use firefox for my HP account but it would apply to any account. I get the verification code via email but cannot enter it as required because the page asking for it has disappeared. How do I get it back? History does not have that page. Seems like an obvious question but I need explicit help. Thanks for your reponse. I hope you can help further.

Were you using a link to the login page? The website could have changed it. Try starting from the site's main page.

Or do you mean there is something not working on the site? Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?

No errors. No link. No Firefox history page shown. What can I try to retrieve the page which asks for the verification code but has disapeared wehn I try to enter it. Thanks for your help. Seems like a stupid question but please help if you can as it has happened before. Esther

Aren't you opening the email page in a new tab as it sounds you lose the page with the form where you enter the verification code?

You would need to acquire a new code if you reopen the page with the form where you enter the code, so it is vital not to close the page or open another page in the same tab.
