lost my passwords by doing a REFRESH
I did a refresh yesterday and lost my passwords. I have another computer where the passwords are functioning and I have the "old file" but I don't know how to use it. I clicked on the old file, but just came up with another file called EP7i0nok. It doesn't do anything but it just opens up and it doesn't have anything to restore data.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

Well, I do appreciate the links, however they never went anywhere that i could use and I still don't know how to restore my passwords.
I did find the old file and when I clicked on it there was another folder underneath and when I clicked on that I did find the logins.json – but when I click on that it just opens up to page with no comprehensible information for me nor any links I could click to restore.
Also, you should know I do have another laptop computer with Firefox on it, and it is working with passwords. I read that I could sync with the other, but I don't know if I should start the sync from the working laptop or from the desktop iMac that got wiped out after the restore? Any tips on this? And can I get the logins on my laptop over to the desktop computer? BTW – I only have one profile that I set up a couple of years ago.
logins.json and key3.db [v58+]key4.db : These are the password files.
One file contains only the website and user name while the other contains the passwords in encrypted form.
If you want to try to recover the data from these older files, 1) You can Copy these files to the current profile, overwriting the current or move/rename the current 2) Copy these files to a new profile, then see if the data you want is there. 3) These programs can create a file of your login data.
