Firefox is not an email program. I assume therefore that you are using an email site using Firefox as browser. This looks like a problem with your email provider.
Or are you using Mozilla Thunderbird?
Or do you have any reason to suspect a browser fault?
I have been in touch with road runner web mail and they said it was a browser problem.
Try another browser - Google Chrome or Opera say. That might determine whether road runner web mail is incompatible with Firefox.
