i have a macintosh laptop computer. been using firefox for years. when i downloaded the updated firefox, (4.0 version,) this problem started. When ever i click the firefox icon to start it, firefox states it is in "offline mode," and I have to "check the work offline menu." Not sure where, if anywhere, that is located. Or even if it would help.

Right click the Tab bar and then click "Menu Bar" at the top to get the text links. (Windows users can press the ALT key, but I'm not sure if that works on a mac).

Anyway, from there, click File, then "Work Offline" to remove the checkmark.

Mac does not seem to have a "menu" bar. But it does have a "file" tab. As I was trying to follow the instructions for this, I found the "work offline" option under "file" and unchecked it. That worked!
