I clear the browsing and download history already, but the history still auto-appear in the location bar when I type the site url. Why?
I use tools -> clear recent history -> browsing & download history (everything)
However, all the news or urls I visit couple months ago always auto-appeared when I type the url in the location bar.
I've observed this situation since Firefox 4 or 5, so I am googling how to really delete all my browsing history.
Also, it is weired and angry, firefox keep to remember the wrong id/password of web server authentication data, since I edit my id/password. Firefox always show me the wrong id/password, even I delete everything and every categories in the "Clear All History". It looks the clear history feature doesn't function as it indicated.

Here is how you do it:
Firefox > History > Clear Recent History
(Or Tools > Clear Recent History)
Then in the opened window hit the button beside details and then check all of the available things in there.
Also pay attention that everything is selected in the list of the upper side.
If this helped you, please hit 'Solved it' Button so the topic would be closed.
It doesn't work. I've tried it before I post this question. I do checked all of the available things, including Browsing and Download History, Form & Search History, Cookies, Cache, Active Logins, Site Preferences, and I've tried it many times including this time.
The problem is when I type "www" or "www.site_I_visited" in the location bar, the auto-complete feature will show the urls I've visited before.
If you want to delete some specific sites from the address bar you may highlight them with arrow keys and then use Shift+Delete.
You can also make Firefox not to show you the sites you visited as suggestion in the location bar. To do so:
- Firefox > Options > Options > Privacy
In Location Bar section choose Nothing from the list. So Firefox won't show suggestions from the sites you visited. Also you can choose Bookmarks from the list for Firefox to suggest you the sites from your Bookmarks. (Which you can organize as you like)
Next time you wanted to visit a site that you want Firefox to leave no record of it simply use Private Browsing.

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.
This will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.
