If I open a new tab it overwrites the currently open tab. For example, when I click a login from Roboform the new window closes the current tab and replaces it with the new web page.

I want new tabs to not close the current tab and replace it with the new one; I want it to open in a new tab, beside the current tab. The way it does when I click a link on a web page.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. I tried safe mode but new pages still overwrite the current tab. I checked the Options/general tab but it has no accelerator option. This trouble shooting process is, for me, far to complicated so I'm just going to run Reset and hope for the best.

Resetting didn't solve the problem.

Is it a problem? Does FF normally overwrite the current tab; instead of opening a new page in a new tab?

Since I reset firefox the homepage search icon doesn't respond; clicking it doesn't animate it and nothing happens. I don't know if it was like that before because I never used the FF Homepage before.
