Hi I’m running Firefox 21 on Window 7

Every time a YouTube page loads, Firefox asks me if I want to save a an application/binary called “Frame”. The file is 0 bytes and seems to do nothing. After setting the files to be automatically saved to my download folder, at the end of a YouTube session there’ll be 30 or 40 of these “Frame” files.

The problem occurs in safe mode and only in Firefox , not IE.

Any help much appreciated

Simon Goodwin

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
