how do you delete a pop up window inks.data.com from loading every 5 minutes? I cannot find it in programs; it does not show up in tools options. What can I do?
I was attempting to download a program that included a Conduit tool bar, I did not ask for and it came with a Bing search bar as well which I don't know how to get rid of. I got rid of the Condiut tool bar but on top of all that, I keep getting a pop up window from inks.data.com that pops up every so often. I have tried to go through control panel/programs and did not find Bing or other programs. I tried Tools/options and checked through all the headings/categories and exceptions and did not find inks.data.com listed anywhere. It is hiding somewhere within some program; as is the pesky Bink search bar and I want to delete them completely. I have gone through Tools/addons/extensions and did not find Bing or inksdata.com there either. Unfortunately, at this time too, I am attempting to run VAIO Care and 2 important Windows updates and do not want to system restore to wipe these two very pesky programs off my Vaio. These tool bars and search sites were added to all my platforms: yahoo, mozilla and internet explorer and probably chrome too. I went through internet explorer to get rid of Conduit. Do you have any tricks up your sleeves to tell me what I can do to permanently get rid of Bing and inksdata? I would appreciate it very much! Thanks!

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Also delete a possible user.js file and use the searchreset tool.
Thanks for the help. I will try to download the Microsoft security program. I also looked at the Mozilla troubleshoot page link you sent; but i don't know what I'm looking at/for in the jsfile listings...I understand if something is listed as true or false; but I don't know which of those is related to the bing or inksdata ... I'll keep referring back to your links and the mozilla troubleshoot page; it may take a while for me to get back to report the problems solved...Thanks!
