my "new tab" page is blank, and I can't seem to get any bookmarks onto it. I've tried multiple ways, as well as the tips in your support page, but none of them seem to work. Do I need to reset the page in some way? Is there a trick I don't know?

It also doesn't load my recent pages automatically, all the rectangles are blank.

Looking at the system information you are using private browsing or not saving cache etc,

You need to make sure you do NOT always clear History, or always NOT always start in Private Browsing:

Once you have done that you need to visit the sites so that the images get loaded.


IIRC there may be a proposal to change things in future but right now Firefox depends on cached information to populate the NewTab thumbnails with images. So even if you turn it on it will have nothing to add. I guess it may be capable of pinning a blank thumb nail from the bookmarks library if you are in Private Browsing mode. I have not actually tried that.
