We recently bought a new computer for the business. I have changed the homepage daily but it keeps reverting to other addresses like Conduit and just recently this is what I get in the address bar. file:///C:/Users/ST1/AppData/Local/TNT2/Common/pinnedSearch.htm I have tried to fix this a number of ways but still keep getting other homepages not Yahoo. Help!

Hello Beth,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

If that did not help;

=================================

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

You can check in "Windows Control Panel > Programs" for recently installed programs to see if anything from Conduit or any other suspicious software shows up.

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.

If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

Have you run any of the malware scans? Some programs can leave something behind even after they are removed from the computer.
