I need some more information to understand your problem better:

  • is your calendar missing the events, or do you not have the calendar tab at all?
  • do you have your mail accounts and emails, or was it like starting with nothing?
  • what version of Thunderbird did you have before the update?

I don't think the Thunderbird profile folder is preserved when doing a Windows refresh. So you'll need to restore a backup. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/b8/archive/2012/01/04/refresh-and-reset-your-pc.aspx
