Hi Darryl, it's funny, your main toolbar is sort of a mirror image of the order of mine. To remove the search bar (the smaller search box), right-click the magnifying glass icon on the left end and choose Remove From Toolbar.

To show the menu bar, you can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select it there:

To turn on the Menu Bar, Bookmarks Toolbar, or other bars, click it on the list.

Now... to get that on the same line with other things, if that's allowed, you would need to use the Customize feature. This article has more information: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

Hi Darryl, it sounds like some results are being sent to Firefox's "sidebar". That's an area on the left of the tab where the Bookmarks sidebar and History sidebar can be displayed. To test that theory, press Ctrl+Shift+b and see whether the left part changes to bookmarks.

When you add a bookmark using a link in a webpage, it often is coded to open in the sidebar. You can edit the bookmark: right-click it, choose Properties, then check in the lower left corner of the Properties dialog for a checkbox and un-check it.

If that's not the problem, could you provide a screen shot or further description of the odd layout you're seeing?

Hi Darryl, if you do not want that eBay bookmark to open in the left sidebar, try the right-click edit I mentioned: right-click the bookmark, choose Properties, then look for a checkbox in the lower left and uncheck it.
