Firefox not applying latest update 45.0 even after downloading.

Firefox has downloaded the update for version 45.0 and though it says it needs to restart, it isn't applying the update even after restarting. Post restart, on checking for updates, it is again downloading the same update repeatedly and the version remains same as previous 44.0.2. Please help.
