Thunderbird is mangling email adresses from my address book.

Email addresses look fine in my address book, but when I try to send an email the addresses get all mangled. For example DamPuppy@aol.com comes out as <DamCindy Davidson <DamPuppy@aol.com>Puppy@aol.com>, and I get an error message if i try to send the email. I have to manually edit the address in every single email sent. I am running version 45.0 on Windows 7 Home, </p>

are you using drag and drop of addresses?

What happens if you use the standard diagnostic of starting Thunderbird in safe mode?
