Google search gives Bing results, how did I stop this?
Firefox is set as my default browser and google is set as my home page on my Windows 7 laptop. When I do a search, in the google box, the results come up as Bing results. I have reinstalled Firefox, I have unticked Bing as an alternative search engine and I have removed Bing from the search engine list. Any suggestions

Hello again !
So you're back with the same problem you had a few days ago and we thought the problem was solved ..........
You did everything you were supposed to do (including unchecking Bing); and you got the SearchReset-add-on, which worked, (or so we thought).
That leaves me with only one thing that you may have overlooked:
After you unchecked Bing, did you click on 'Restore Default Search Engine' (below the list of search engines, on the left) ?
No but I can try it.
Hi changes my homepage to mozilla, restored my deleted search engines including Bing. I unchecked Bing and searched again still Bing results
'Thought you were going to click on:
'Restore Default Search Engine' .......... (???)
It looks like we're back at square one .......
Maybe it's a good idea for you to go back to the question you posted a few days ago: /questions/1141917 and follow the advice that was given you there.
Then report back here, and when things aren't clear to you: please ask !
OK so I have added Bing back into the list of one click search engines. I can't see how this would affect anything, but I have done it. I did restore the default search engine! I just decided to remove Bing from the list of one click search engines that reappear when you restore the default search engine. Restoring default search engine leaves google as the default search engine. When I search using the mozilla homepage it still gives me Bing results as it still does when I search using google.
In case it helps, if I use IE then a google search gives google results

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove Bing Anything. Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.
Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Why did you do that ?
I did restore the default search engine!

Which home page you use is irrelevant.
When you have Google set as your default search engine and removed Bing, you should not get Bing search results .........
I can't think of any other advice than I have given you a few days ago, so I'm going to call for help (sorry).
To Fred Nothing about bing in extensions, sadly
Is this an accurate description of the problem:
You open this page:
You type into Google's search box in the page and submit your search.
Your results appear on Bing (this is in the address bar)
instead of

Hi again,
As we're not getting anywhere and you really need to get this problem solved:
Is there maybe a relative, a friend or a neighbour who could look over your shoulder and show you how to do it ?
(and let him/her take a look at the advice that was given to you three days ago)
By the way: when I asked you earlier:
'After you unchecked Bing, did you click on   'Restore Default Search Engine', you replied:
'No, but I can try '
And then you went and did something completely different ........ (??)
Again: good luck and keep us posted !
