I updated to Thunderbird v. 50.0 today, and now it hangs every 5 minutes or so. It almost always happens when I'm viewing a message, but the messages are all different and from different contacts.

Anyone else having this problem?

I'm on a Dell Inspiron 13 laptop running Win10 v. 1607 with 8GB of RAM.

Thanks, Chris

Do you realize v50 is a beta version?

If you want to test the beta - fine. If not, why would you run a beta in the first place?

No, I did not realize it was a beta. And I don't remember ever installing the beta. But I do vaguely remember the Update to Latest Version notification said something about beta in it. So--either I originally installed the beta by mistake, or I had the correct version and somehow got an update notification for the beta. Either way, I guess I'll have to reinstall the correct version. Thanks.

belmontbooks,

Your problem went away when going back to regular release?
