For a few months now I am getting fake emails that says it is from my email address. Looking at the headers it shows that I am the sender of the fake emails. I didn't know if I should attach one of the headers to this message or not but can send one if needed. I know they are spam but all I can do is delete them. If I mark them as spam/junk then all of my real emails that I send to myself will also be sent to the junk folder.

I appreciate all the help you can give me here.

Thunderbird doesn't look at the sender when you mark as Junk or Not Junk. It works on the content, and the frequency of occurrence of words. Go ahead and mark them as Junk. (Other services' Spam filters may not work in the same way.)

Actually if it works as advertised, and your own address is stored in your Address Book, it should be whitelisted and messages that appear to be from you would not treated as Junk.

I have yet to see a message that claims to be from me actually showing as having come from me. There is always something that betrays its true origin.
