Save a web page as pdf with embedded links.
Google Chrome has an option to save a web page as a .pdf file. With this option when you save the web page it preserves all of the embedded links. I can create a .pdf file using Firefox, but the embedded links are not preserved. There are numerous add-ons associated with .pdf files. Does anyone know if there is an add-on that will allow a web page to be saved or printed as a .pdf file and have the embedded links in the file?

Hi Bill, This one seems to maintain links, when I tried it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pdf-mage/

Hi, you will have to look at these to decide if any of these are useful for you : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=save+as+pdf
Plus there are other ways like this where you can print as a pdf file so is saved and not printed but will also print if want from printer controls. https://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/doPDF/1171636577/1
It is much up to the user as to what you install including Adobe which can print to file. Specify in General --> Applications how Adobe does with a file : https://get.adobe.com/reader/
As well you may have to go into Windows 10 Settings --> Apps --> Default Apps and make changes or Settings and by file type.and tell it what to do.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Let me make sure you understand.
I will look at the add-ons and maybe one of them will accomplish what I want.
I have a program that will allow me to print to a .pdf file. This works in Firefox or any application that allows you to print.
The problem is you may have some text that has an embedded URL. I have not found a program that works with Firefox that allows the embedded URL to be carried forward in the .pdf file.
The program I have will carry an embedded URL forward if you use Internet Explorer or any of the Microsoft suite of office products.
When I asked the manufacturer about this they said that Goggle Chrome allows you to save a web page as a .pdf. I tried this and it works. It is the same as printing via my program as if I was using Internet Explorer.
So what I am asking is do you know of an add-on for Firefox that will accomplish the same thing as Google Chrome?
Hi, the 1st link in previous response was a lot of extensions that save to pdf. Adobe DC (reader) should preserve all links I would think.
And yes for some reason Firefox does make it difficult to save hyper links.
I tried several and they did not work. I can use Google and I guess that is the solution.
I use Acrobat Pro 11 installed as standalone and plugin for both FF and Chrome and that for me works better when capturing web pages with link and extras.
