On Sunday morning I had e-mail showing I did not delete them and when I went back to look at them to respond to several they were all gone and I don't seem to be receiving any new ones.

Maybe it will help to repair your inbox. When messages go missing or deleted messages hang around after they are removed this MAY Help.

Let us try repairing that folder ... In the Folders Pane on the Left find the inbox folder with the missing messages. Right Click on the Icon of that folder (still in the Folders Pane on the Left) and Choose Properties. Click the Repair Folder button then Click OK. (Wait a while for repairs to finish ... ) Look again to see if any messages have returned.
