I am buying a new computer. I want to save/backup my bookmarks and profile to my usb, so I can use it when I download firefox to the computer .

 The website instructions for finding profile does not work.  Menu/troubleshooting/applications is not an option

Or is there another way I can do it? thank you

Enter about:profiles in the URL bar. You should backup a Root directory.

Thank you I did that, and do not understand it...

.I have been using pc for 20 yrs, but have never had to do anything in the root directory

Several years ago backed up profile/passwords, it was very simple. this is not?

  1. Enter about:profiles in the URL bar. Press <enter>.
  2. There's a list of directories under a profile. Root directory & Local directory. You should backup a Root directory.

A friend told me I don't have to backup

He says When I install FF on my new computer and sign in the profile etc will automatically appear. True or False?
