Firefox Crashing, trying to find out why
Hi there, first time posting. I have Firefox 82.0.3 64-bit and I am on Windows 10. The only add-ons I have are Ublock Origin and Adblocker.
This morning I was having some internet trouble and it turns out my ISP needs to send someone out to my house to fix it. While my internet was going in and out, Firefox seemed very sensitive to this because it would continue to crash.
I was wondering if your internet connection going in and out can cause Firefox to crash (I need to the end the process because it is unresponsive type of crashing). I don't usually have any problems with Firefox and just wanted to ask.
Thanks.

After your ISP is fixed, send us any crash reports after the fix.
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>.
Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of
the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.
Please, Do not post a screenshot ! !

Hi there thank you for helping. When I try to see crash reports, Firefox says non have been submitted and the page is just blank.
Also, I believe what is crashing Firefox is Speedtest.Net after I have done a Speedtest. Yesterday it was hit or miss but now after a test is done, Firefox stops responding and I need to force close it.
Sorry if this is a double post, I tried replying but I don't actually see my reply.
I also have new tab override as an add-on, I forgot about that one. Just in case it matters.
Thank you very much for helping. When I put about:crashes in the address bar and press enter, it is a blank page that says, no crash reports submitted. When I try to find crash reports in the Firefox folder in App Data, there is nothing there either.
One thing I did notice however, is my not responding/crashes seem to be related to when I do a test from Speedtest.net and it is weird because yesterday the crashes didn't happen at first. After things got really bad and my ISP said we need to send someone out there, Speedtest would crash after 1 test constantly and I tried a Speed test this morning, it crashed again. Other than Speed test, Firefox "seems fine". I say seems because I could just be getting lucky it isn't crashing on other websites.

. . . my ISP said we need to send someone out therePlease keep us posted.
Any time I do a speedtest from anywhere, Speedtest.net, google itself, speakeazy or fast.com, Firefox just crashes now every time after. It just stops responding and I need to end the process.
This is also now happening on Firefox 83.0 as well.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

Hm, Firefox in Safe Mode seemed perfectly fine. Fast and no crashes after 5 speed tests. Is there anyway to find out what specifically is causing the issue without disabling things one by one?
Edit: I removed New Tab Override and went back to New Tab Homepage. So far no crashing, however I did notice that after I complete a speed test, when I go to look in task manager, Firefox still has 3 processes running, but they aren't doing anything and I have to end them myself. If I don't do a speed test, the extra process do not pop up.

That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this can help others with similar problems.

Do they close when you close Firefox?
More than one process is normal for the current Firefox. http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/22/multi-process-firefox/
Multi-process Firefox is codenamed "e10s". https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/multiprocess

They do not close when I close Firefox, they are 3 other instances of Firefox that are doing nothing as far as I can tell, but I have to force close them. I know multiple processes of Firefox run, but only when I do speedtests do they not close.
Well Internet is back to normal, I've tried safe mode, disabling apps manually etc.. and the Crashing after doing a Speed test is still happening. Doesn't happen on Chrome, only Firefox.
