How do I reset "nightly is being updated by another instance". It's been three days now. This is well beyond bug 1068383 from 2014. Is there something that can reset this condition?

This should have been fixed in the today's Nightly update by backing out the bug that caused the regression.

  • Bug 1553982 - Use a semaphore to track the number of running instances of an installation so we can prevent updating a running instance out from under it

If you reboot the computer then you should be able to update nightly.
