Deleting non-attached, inline images from an email
This is a follow up to the Feb '21 thread 'Deleting JUST a photo in a sent or received email - not the text.' (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1325776) which is now archived and not able to be responded to.
The answer there was: "You need to change the view from 'Original HTML' to 'Plain Text'. 'Menu app icon' > 'View' > 'Message Body as' > select 'Plain Text' This removes formatting and the image will be shown as an attachment and my previous comment info will then work.
If you then go back to : 'Menu app icon' > 'View' > 'Message Body as' > 'Original Html', you will notice the image is replaced by an empty black outline."
The problem is as of v91, this no longer works. The images instead now show up in the email as a cid link: ex: "[cid:image002.jpg@01D783AB.C3B95BB0]"
What is the current way to delete these out?

Technically the email body defines the content you speak of as inline, not an attachment.
You have deleted the resource, but not the reference to is. You would need to edit the text of the email to get rid of the links.

How could that be done? Is there an addon?
