While Thunderbird will send short messages it does not send a message with an attachment. Also recently a message to me with a PDF attachment was received on my phone but not on Thunderbird. I have donated and reinstalled Thunderbird but the problem persists. Problem not with Internet, other programs work perfectly.

Problem is probably with your choice of antivirus program. Try disabling or removing it.
