Firefox 8.0 is not playing the videos in websites like Yahoo, dailyshow.com etc. Internet explorer plays it without any problems. Why?

Firefox 8 is not working as the earlier browsers used to work. It doesn't play videos that are embedded in the websites. dailyshow.com and yahoo.com etc. This started happening for the past 2-3 weeks only. Firefox also seems to consume a lot of memory and freeze up. sometimes it wouldn't load the website. I would have to restart firefox to load the website.

Hey vinodhmurali,

It sounds like it might be a plugin issue. Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article Fix common audio and video issues? There is a lot of good troubleshooting information in there.
