how to store cookiews across sessions when using private browsing
I use Firefox in private browsing mode all the time. However, one or two sites work better if cookies are kept across sessions. Is it possible to do this on an exception basis, i.e. all cookies are deleted UNLESS there the site is specifically allowed to store them across sessions?
(N.B. I have seen a post from a year ago that mentions CookieCuller, but isn't there something builtin to Firefox by now?)

hello DeWrek, i think this won't be possible - private mode really means private.
as a sort of workaround you could download a portable version of firefox (note: they are not provided by mozilla directly), set it up in firefox > options > privacy like shown in the screenshots attached (in addition you can switch off caching and offline data in options > advanced > network) & use that as replacement for private browsing mode of your main installation...
Thanks for response, madperson, I appreciate your help.
Am I right in thinking that your solution means that I would have two versions of Firefox and use the portable one when I need the sites that require cookies across sessions, and the other one for all other times?
yes, the disadvantage would be that the cookies from the portable version won't sync with your main version (i'm not sure if that would fit in the usecase you want to achieve)...
