Youtube comments disappear when I click "show the comment" to see a thread of comments.
I was browsing youtube earlier and all of the sudden whenever i would click "show the comment" to see the comment someone had replied to the the persons response disappeared and there would be a large blank space. Tried it on Internet Explorer and everything worked fine so its just FF that its not working on. Also tried clearing my cache and cookies, that didnt work either. Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here. Firefox 22, Windows 7 64 bit. Just started happening a few days ago. I tried disabling all plugins and extentions clearing everything out of history and cache and even tried private browsing and the problem still occurs. One thing that I did notice was when I had the window maximized then clicked on "Show the Comment" the white space appeared and the comment dissapeared. However when I un-maximized the window the comment appeared and the extra space went away. It also seems to fix it even if the window is not maximized and I just resize the window enough for it to have to adjust placement of the comments within the window. Not sure what any of this means but maybe someone out there may get a clue as to what is going on by these symptoms. I have tried reproducing in Internet Explorer 10 but the problem does not occur.

looks like youtube did an adobe, but for now the easiest fix is when it happens just toggle fullscreen mode twice using the middle button of the 3 buttons on the top right EDIT:: whoops people already posted this solution like 3 times

did any one else notice that YT is using a loading bar? Maybe when YT updated for this new feature it may have screwed with the comment setting? but It might just be me... I keep seeing that this has been happening 'a few days ago'. But how far back has it been happening? Trying to figure this out, maybe FF can get into contact w/ YT and discuss this abit, maybe YT did something and doesn't realize it.
I am experiencing the same problem here. Very annoying. Hope this will be fixed soon.
Having the same problem. I guess I will have to wait this out.
So I have (almost) the same problem: every time I click "show comment" in full screen mode, all comments disappear (not just the ones I wanted to see, but just the entire comments section goes blank). Now after un-maximizing the window, when I click "show comment" the comment I wanted to see appears (but it has too many negative votes, so I still have to press "show" to be able to read it), but the reply to it (i.e. the one where I clicked "show comment") disappears. All other comments just stay the same. When I then click "show" to view the hidden comment, it disappears completely. So the two comments I wanted to read are gone, while the rest is still the same. So... de-maximizing FF didn't really do anything for me :/
its nothing to do with youtube as i can view it fine in internet explorer...
I think people may get confused by my last post about YT updating with that loading bar thing. I know that YT works of other browser systems but I'm talking about the YT to FF interaction. Something in YT code and in FF code must be having some kind of 'does not compute' thing going on. Everything else is fine and dandy until you tell it to reveal the comment that is linked to the already shown one. I don't know exactly what's wrong but I have a feeling that it has something to do with the YT to FF interactive codes or something like that.
Apparently YouTube has changed something because now whenever a video ends it switches to the Share tab underneath automatically instead of staying on the About tab. This happens in Internet Explorer as well.
I've seen that as well, but since that's happening on other search terminals than that can't be the problem... can it?
It may or may not be linked to the Firefox issue. However, it is at least evidence that YouTube is making changes which could have caused the issue.
I don't know if you all already figured it out, but I think their fixing the problem. Just watched a video and opened a trail of comments without the giant pain on minimize/maximize! I'll edit this if this was a fluke.
Seems to have been patched on my end too.
