Please first make sure your extensions are up to date, as well as make sure that the preference is not locked. Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox You can also try this add ons: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../?q=clear+download+history&platform=all&appver=29.0

And please try Safe ModeDiagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode
