Aargh ... Just discovered a second problem with this update to Ver. 30. My SimplePass (HP Program, not a Firefox add-on) doesn't work. When I go to a site that requires a password, SimplePass pops up and asks me to swipe my fingerprint reader ... Would really like to get this working again ... It still works on the Internet Explorer ...

I'd appreciate any help, THANKS!

Firefox 30 switched many plugins from "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate". The purpose of this change was to require your permission for untrusted sites to use plugins. However, some plugins like HP SimplePass affect the user interface, so they do not work well with this setting. Here's how to switch it back:

Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Plugins. Look for the SimplePass plugin and change "Ask to Activate" to "Always Activate".

This might not take effect immediately in the current window, but should work in new windows, or after you exit and restart Firefox.

Does that work?
